it’s not me, it’s you

Filed under: UR Doing It Wrong — Tamarind @ 12:05 am

M’Pocket Tank and I popped our noses into UK to try and work out what went wrong.  Between the two of us we managed to take down down the first 2 elite mobs and very nearly the next 3.

We weren’t expecting to get far but the point was soothe my hemo and see what was up with my healing.

The answer thankfully turned out to be ‘nothing at all’.  The rhythms were exactly what I was expecting.

I am much relieved but also curious.

Why was that paladin made of cheese?

  1. There’s actually a name for this in psychology, but I have forgotten what it is and google is being slow. Basically, though, it’s a documented fact that when you set a group a task and it fails (which, of course, you can cause it do experimentally), the extent to which each individual member of the group attributes the collective failure to their own individual mistakes has *nearly everything* to do with their personality and *almost nothing* to do with the number and severity of misakes that they, personally, made. (It’s going to be one of the cornerstones of my forthcoming self-help book The Happy Asshole: Raise Your Self-Esteem By Being A Complete Dick To Everyone Around You! which is going to have *biiiiiig* chapters on World of Warcraft, let me tell you.)

That said, don’t forget the words of the poem:

If you can keep your head while all around
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
Then you clearly have no fucking idea what is going on.

(Not that I think it applies in this case, of course…)

    • You’re say I have the psychology of a masochist?

Also can I just point that the related links to this post are all about “Relaxation Anxiety.”

God, even WordPress thinks I’m neurotic.

      • Well, that or Mr Dairylea-Spreadable-Cheezadin and his friends have the psychology of arrogant wankpots.

        Which is more likely.
